Roots of Tibetan Yoga

Have you ever heard of the exercise that offers various benefits and not just for weight loss? Would you believe that this exercise can also help in fighting the signs of rapid aging? Do you know that it can even help you with other medical conditions?

Indeed, Tibetan yoga, also known as the 5 Rites, has become so popular that several industries of society want to benefit from it. Learning the origins of the 5 Rites can help you understand that it is possible to achieve your goals in weight loss, rejuvenation, etc using its methodologies.

Out in the open

When people talk about the origin of Tibetan yoga, it's very common to associate it with Peter Kelder and the retired Brit Army Colonel Bradford. These were the gentlemen who brought the 5 Rites out in the open. It was the colonel who got the chance to experience living with the llamas. These are the monks who thought him about the Tibetan yoga. When Peter Kelder met the colonel, he was able to record their conversations then later on publish it.

While Peter Kelder's booklet circulated just in the 1930's, Tibetan yoga has been put into practice by the lamas more than 2,000 years ago. The first publication was named The Eye of Revelation.

Discovering the Rites

Before Colonel Bradford met Kelder, he was living with the lamas in a lamasery where he was taught about the Fountain of Youth. He was told that this form of exercise has helped many others to become healthy and strong throughout the years.

Based on the booklet, there are seven psychic vortexes inside the body which can be found in the brain, throat, liver, reproductive anatomy and in each knee. These vortexes are continuously spinning but as we get older, the speed of spinning reduces. In effect, health gets compromised. The lamas claim that performing Tibetan yoga consistently can keep these vortexes spinning back to its normal rate. Once they do, improvement of health conditions can be expected.

In addition to the 5 Rites, the lamas taught Bradford about the sixth Rite which they suggested is only intended if one is willing to live a more celibate life. For best results, the lamas emphasized that the exercises should be tied with appropriate combinations of proper diet.

Claimed benefits

While there have not been scientific evidences that Tibetan yoga serves its numerous benefits in health improvement, there are several testimonials to its positive effects. For most people who want to lose weight, fight the signs of aging and improve general health conditions, Tibetan yoga is considered as an alternative way of making these goals possible.
